A Christian Recovery Coach also known as a Christian Life Coach, Spiritual Coach Spiritual Coach, Christian Accountability Coach, is a non-clinical professional who applies biblical principles and scripture to those addicted individuals and their families who are going through recovery or have gone through recovery. (See Matthew 5:14-16).

A Christian Recovery Coach takes a non-biased, non-judgmental (See Matthew 7:1-6) biblical approach with addicted individuals and their families in order to help with stopping addiction (abstinence) or reduce harm (harm reduction) based on Biblical principles and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Christian Recovery Coaches in times of need will assist with the navigation of a client and their family with faith based/Christian organizations for recovery. (See Luke 6:37).

Anyone and everyone who is and is not struggling with an addiction and who wants to grow closer to the Lord during the perilous time of addiction and recovery. We as humans are addicted or have an addiction to something (Suggested Reading: Addiction and Grace by Gerald G. May, M.D.) due to our sin nature (See Genesis 3:1-19). The misnomer with addiction and recovery is that it is only Substance Abuse (Drugs/Alcohol) but every single human being is addicted and/or Recovering from something (Obsessive Thinking, Work, Grief, Divorce, Relationship Breakup, Sex, Compulsive Eating, Gambling, Spending, Shopping, Cell Phone/Computer  “Screen Addictions”) or just simply the anxieties of life and the uncertainty of a Future (See Philippians 2:4).

What are the limitations of a Christian Recovery Coach?2020-09-25T13:57:04+00:00

Because Christian Recovery Coaches are not Pastors, Psychologist, Therapist, Christian Counselors, they do not offer treatments or diagnose and treat addictions. However, unlike the above mentioned Christian Recovery Coaches will move a client challenged with an addiction forward utilizing biblical principles beyond recovery as well as make themselves more accessible to a client in order to help prevent or reduce relapse (See Ephesians 4:11-17).

How often do I need a Christian Recovery Coach/Accountability Partner?2020-09-25T13:57:36+00:00

This depends upon how far along and how advanced the clients addiction is. We have clients that are in need of faith based recovery 2-3x/Week (8-12 Sessions/mo and as infrequent as 1-2 sessions/month.

Most (70-85%) of Christian Recovery Coaches address substance abuse (Drugs/Alcohol) however other addictions/recovery include sex/porn addiction, grief, divorce, relationship breakups, compulsive gambling, compulsive shopping, and co-dependency (See Romans 3:23 and Romans 12:2)

A Christian Recovery Coach is specifically trained as a Life coach with an emphasis on addiction and recovery utilizing biblical principles and scripture in order to move a client forward from Recovery to Discovery in all areas of the clients life (i.e. Vocation, Family, Health, Environment, and etc) (See Romans 15:7, Ephesians 5:21)
